Dad, may you rest in peace.

My father passed away on Sunday from a very sudden and unexpected heart attack.
His death has really been a shock and still feels very unreal to me.
Medically, I am not allowed to fly so it is really tough to be so far away from my family at this time. I am very lucky to have my loving husband by my side for support, although nothing can really take away the pain.

I am so blessed to have had such an amazing father and he was always someone I respected and looked up to, but could always make me laugh too. We had some wonderful times together and we are so lucky to have been able to spend Christmas last year together at home. He got to walk me down the isle on my wedding day and found out that he was going to be a grandfather for the first time.
Our baby girl is very lucky to have a guardian angel looking out for her.

I will love you forever Dad!

  2. Kate, I am so so sorry your father has passed. It seems like not enough to say but sorry is the best I can come up with.

When my grandfather passed away it was like losing a parent and it took me very long to grieve but I found a quote that made it a little easier: "Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, but love leaves many memories that no one can steal."

I will keep you and your family in my prayers over the next few months as you go through this incredibly hard time.

  11. I am so sorry for your loss. I have been visiting your blog everyday since the beginning of October and I feel that now is the time to speak up. My cousin's father in law also passed away this weekend of the same cause, and my former chemistry teacher's father in law was abducted/missing 3 weeks ago, and they found his body his weekend. It's just a sad time. Again, so sorry for your loss and I am praying for your family.

  13. I been following your blog for a little while now, and reading about your life, and how much effort you put into making a home, and all the love you have waiting for your little girl, makes me always feel so warm and happy for you. You seem like such a wonderful girl, doing her best to make a family, and I am truly heart sore for your loss, and you and your family will be in my prayers tonight. God bless you all.

  16. I can't even begin to imagine what you are going though but want you to know that I am so, so sorry to hear the news. I also often read your blog and it makes me smile (I am 33 weeks now) and I just know you are going to be an incredible mother. You were obviously meant to have been in SA over Christmas. Your Dad's love for you and his beautiful granddaughter is not going anywhere. xx

  22. I know exactly how you feel. I lost my father 20 years ago today and my mother 2 months ago today. It is difficult being pregnant and also going through such an emotional time. Just know that your Dad will also be with you and with the baby for now and forever watching over you. Many prayers are with you and your family during this very difficult time.
