Lately...

With only about 7 weeks left of this pregnancy, it's hard not to start feeling like a whale every time I look in the mirror or get on that dreaded scale in the doctor's office. I'm not going to lie... I've put on a lot of weight over the past 7 months. In the beginning I was really good at keeping a healthy and balanced diet, but as the months rolled by and the sweet cravings kicked in (not to mention a trip to South Africa where I left behind any last hope of a waistline) I am now close to the finish line of the "recommended weight gain" for an entire pregnancy. (eek!)

Although I am not a fan of the added area space I seem to be taking up in the world, I wouldn't give up being pregnant with our precious little Llambok for anything in the world and knowing that soon she will be with us is worth waddling like a duck, gasping for air every time I climb stairs and relating so intensely to those people on TLC's "My 600lb life".

I'm one lucky whale!

  3. Well, every time you post your weekly updates I can't stop thinking about how great you look for as far along as you are in your pregnancy... although I will admit that South Africa is never good for a diet, ha!

But really, I hope that I look as great as you do when I"m pregnant one day :)

  4. I think you look great! Part of pregnancy is weight gain. Everyone is different. I don't like the weight guidelines personally. Obviously you should eat well and gain a reasonable amount of weight, but I work out and eat relatively well and I've still gained on the higher end of the spectrum (26-28 lbs by now). I think we put way too much pressure on ourselves weight-wise. Sometimes your body gains or doesn't gain for a reason! :)

  5. I feel the same way, and I haven't put on nearly as much weight as I thought I would. I just keep getting bigger, and it's surreal to me that in the next seven weeks this kid is going to gain (what is it?) three to four more pounds? Holy crap.
